Know Our Story

Myself, Sunil Sahu, have been working for the last 23 years at Ramakrishna Math, Pune as an administrator and accountant. While doing my job, I read many religious books, especially those of Sri Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda. The teachings of all those started reflecting on my personal life too. During and after the Corona outbreak, I listened to many holy and religious lectures of the Ramakrishna Mission and others on the YouTube channel. Slowly, I started visiting many NGOs and came into contact with many social workers doing their activities in various social fields; notable amongst them were Dr. Vikas Amte (Anandwan), Dr. Prakash Amte (Lok Biradari Prakalpa, Hemalkasa), Dr. Abhay & Rani Bang (SEARCH), Shri. Vijay Phalnikar (Apla Ghar Foundation) and many more. After getting inspiration from all these great personalities, I also decided to do something for the downtrodden and needy. 

After some discussion with my friends and family members, we all decided to start an NGO by the name of 'Maa Sarada Foundation'. On the holy occasion of Dipavali Padwa 2020, we all officially started Maa Sarada Foundation.

In the meantime, in the year 2022, I completed my MSW (Master of Social Work) from IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University). To continue my work, my daughter Nirmitee also completed her MSW from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth in 2023. At present, she is working in an NGO by the name of Kolumbus Healthcare Centre. My wife Nirupama is also working at Ramakrishna Math, Polyclinic, in the sonography section for the last 22 years, always helping me hand-in-hand in all my social activities.

In future we have to undertake many social activities in many fields like, Medical, education, etc, through which we can help maximum needy and poor people. Here I would like to quote a saying of Sri Ramakrishna 'Atmano Mokshartham, Jagat Hitaya Cha', which means 'the aim of our life should be to work for the welfare of society, and ultimately we will get Moksha from all our bondings.
